Job summary

National Endowment for Democracy (NED) in Washington, DC, seeks a Director of Procurement & Payables to lead procurement, vendor management, accounts payable, travel, and P-Card programs. This role drives governance, internal controls, and compliance with organizational policies and 2 CFR 200 regulations.

The hybrid position reports to the CFO and requires a strategic leader who partners across departments to optimize sourcing, payments, and cost effectiveness while ensuring responsible

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum of 12 years of progressively responsible experience in procurement, accounts payable, finance operations, or related functions.

Responsibilities

• Lead procurement, vendor management, accounts payable, travel & expense management, and purchasing card programs.
• Develop and maintain vendor onboarding, performance management, and contract monitoring processes.
• Oversee annual information reporting (Forms 1099 and 1042) and ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
• Provide strategic leadership for the procure-to-pay function and drive process improvements.
• Collaborate with organizational leaders to ensure governance, controls, and financial stewardship.
