Job summary

GSK is seeking a Director of Proactive Defense Operations to own the PDO capability end to end, driving strategy, delivery and performance. You will lead automation-focused security teams, coordinating with Detection Eng., SecOps and Vulnerability Management to stay ahead of threats.

You will guide the threat-driven security program, set priorities, manage budgets, and ensure rapid, validated defensive actions with machine-speed triage and automation pipelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or equivalent in cybersecurity/IT or related field.
• 12+ years of cyber security experience.
• Experience in security operations, detection engineering, or data science.

Responsibilities

• Own PDO capability end to end, including roadmap, delivery and service performance.
• Lead and develop the team across two operational pillars.
• Own the capability budget and vendor relationships.
• Report capability performance and risk to CSO governance forums.
• Calibrate PIR framework and automated threat triage to risk.
• Direct machine-speed exposure triage and escalation with SLAs.
• Govern the PDO tech stack (SIEM, data lake, SOAR, MITRE map).
• Collaborate with Detection Eng., SecOps/IR and Vulnerability Mgmt.
• Build metrics showing Cyber Defense progress against threats.
• Lead teams using approved AI tools per Responsible AI and security rules.
