Job summary

Genuine Parts Company seeks a Director of Cyber Defense reporting to the CISO to own the full cyber defense mission across a multi-entity environment. You will lead detection engineering, incident response, threat intelligence, and DFIR, ensuring continuous monitoring and rapid response across the ecosystem.

Ideal candidates bring 10+ years in security operations with 5+ years of leadership, deep AI/ML in security, and strong governance with stakeholders including boards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information security, or a related field.
• Advanced degree is a plus.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in cyber defense or security operations, including 5+ years leading teams.

Responsibilities

• Own and mature enterprise cyber defense, including detection engineering and incident response.
• Direct 24x7 global IT security monitoring across a multi-tenant environment.
• Lead AI adoption with human-in-the-loop controls and escalation paths.
• Oversee SIEM/SOAR strategy and trust AI-enhanced detections and automation.
• Mature threat intelligence program and proactive threat hunting across ecosystems.
