Proofpoint seeks a Director, Presales Engineering Excellence and Innovation to lead a global function spanning Sales Engineering, escalation management, field productivity, and product advocacy. The role drives AI-driven workflow transformation and cross‑functional coordination across Sales, Product, Engineering, Enablement, Support, Security, Legal, and IT.

The candidate will build durable systems for knowledge capture, governance, and repeatable playbooks, delivering measurable customer impact

Qualifications

• Extensive leadership in presales or escalation roles.
• Experience building scalable enablement libraries and playbooks.
• Strong governance and risk management in AI-enabled workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead evolution of escalation strategy with measurable service expectations.
• Drive AI-driven transformation across Presales Engineering.
• Own complex technical escalation paths for high-value opportunities.
• Partner with Sales Engineering to define future PSE model and ownership.
• Build scalable knowledge capture systems and runbooks.
• Coordinate with Product and Engineering to convert field issues into advocacy.
• Stabilize support for emerging product areas and ensure access governance.
• Mentor senior contributors and scale organizational judgment.
