Job summary

Bristol Myers Squibb is seeking a Director, Precision Medicine to lead the development and delivery of diagnostic products supporting Precision Medicine assets. You will guide immunohistochemistry, biomarker strategies, and companion diagnostic delivery to enable robust patient selection and commercial success.

The role requires advanced technical training and 5–7 years in assay/IVD development, with collaboration across multiple disciplines and external partners.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree required (MSc or PhD).
• 5–7 years’ experience in assay and IVD development, including validation, clinical development, manufacturing, regulatory submission, and commercialization of diagnostics.
• Experience in oncology biomarkers and diagnostic business development is preferred.
• Broad knowledge of biomarker and IVD platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead Precision Medicine initiatives on asset development and translational medicine teams.
• Develop strategies for IVD programs including IHC, immunoassays, PCR, and NGS.
• Chair matrix sub-teams to integrate biomarkers into exploratory, clinical, regulatory, and commercial plans.
• Provide strategic direction for diagnostic business development and partnerships.
• Coordinate with internal and external partners to meet technical, validation, regulatory milestones.
• Contribute to commercial planning and medical strategy for diagnostic products.
• Represent BMS as an expert to health authorities and scientific meetings.
• Disseminate precision medicine knowledge to enable organizational learning.
