Job summary

AbbVie in Waltham, MA is seeking a multidiscipline expert to design strategies and studies advancing novel therapies for autoimmune diseases. This senior role drives precision medicine initiatives, biomarker strategies, and cross-functional collaboration to elevate standard of care.

You will lead scientific discussions with internal teams and external partners, shape endpoints, and translate findings into actionable programs while aligning with global regulatory and compliance requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education in Science related field with extensive (typically 18 years) related work.
• Master’s Degree or equivalent education in Science or PharmD or equivalent education with extensive (typically 16 years) related work; MD, PhD or MD/PhD in Science or related field with typically 10 years of related work experience.
• Experience in clinical research and/or development environment; proven ability to innovate with history of supporting launches and/or scientific narratives.

Responsibilities

• Develops and achieves Precision Medicine strategy in alignment with goals; integrates objectives to support asset development.
• Advances scientific expertise in Precision Medicine, Immunology and Gastroenterology; mentors and shares knowledge with team.
• Ensures quality of major project plans through design, risk assessments, and fallback strategies.
• Sources and identifies emerging scientific trends and integrates them into objectives; advances cross-discipline technology.
• Presents scientific concepts and results to leaders and potential partners; maximizes impact of expertise.
• Complies with Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.
• Develops and implements Precision Medicine and biomarker strategies for pipeline and assets.
• Creates and validates novel clinical endpoints across therapeutic areas.
• Communicates findings to cross-functional stakeholders and senior management.
• Interacts with key external opinion leaders in the field.
