Job summary

Cabrillo College seeks a Director of Grants Administration and Compliance to lead post-award grants and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local funder requirements. The role oversees staff, training, and reporting across the District’s grant programs.

The ideal candidate will be highly organized, communicate clearly, and develop practical processes to strengthen grants infrastructure while supporting grant awardees and fiscal staff. Office-based, full-time position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; five years of progressively responsible experience in post-award administration, compliance, or fiscal management of grants; equivalent combination accepted.
• Knowledge of federal Uniform Grant Guidance, California Education Code, and grant regulations.
• Ability to lead staff, manage audits, and provide training on grants compliance.

Responsibilities

• Develops and directs post-award grants administration and compliance functions.
• Interprets and applies federal, state, and local regulations for sponsored programs.
• Directs staff performance, training, and development; handles disciplinary actions as needed.
• Reviews grant expenditures for allowability, allocability, and reasonableness; coordinates with fiscal offices.
• Coordinates post-award activities and ensures timely reporting, renewal, amendments, and closeouts.
• Leads subrecipient monitoring and audit preparation for funded programs.
• Delivers fiscal and compliance training tailored to diverse staff.
