Job summary

Mutual of Enumclaw Insurance Company in the Greater Seattle area is seeking a Director to lead Underwriting Operations and Portfolio Underwriting & Solutions across Personal, Commercial, and Farm lines. Qualifications

10+ years of progressive P&C underwriting or underwriting ops experience.
5+ years leading teams; experience managing managers preferred.
Experience with analytics, portfolio performance, and workflow automation.
Ability to translate data into clear, actionable guidelines.
Experience with AI-enabled underwriting and workflow automation.

Responsibilities

Oversee underwriting operations across Personal, Commercial, and Farm lines.
Guide portfolio performance monitoring: loss trends, growth, retention, and rate adequacy.
Lead underwriting quality and premium audit programs; translate learnings into guidelines and training.
Own the underwriting solutions roadmap, including AI and workflow automation.
Partner with IT and vendors to build business cases with measurable results.
Share the story with executives in clear, bottom-line-first updates.
