Job description

We're looking for a Director to lead Underwriting Operations and Portfolio Underwriting & Solutions across Personal, Commercial, and Farm lines. You'll guide a team and work hand in hand with Underwriting, Product, Claims, and IT to make sure we write the right risks and free our underwriters to focus on the decisions that matter.

Location: The successful candidate will work on-site at our Home Offices in the Greater Seattle area. The candidate must live within driving distance of our offices.

• Keep a close eye on portfolio performance: loss trends, growth, retention, and rate adequacy
• Lead our underwriting quality and premium audit programs, and turn what you learn into smarter guidelines and training
• Run an operations team that delivers accurate, timely service, even when volume spikes
• Own our underwriting solutions roadmap, from AI-enabled underwriting to workflow automation
• Partner with IT and vendors to bring great ideas to life with clear business cases and measurable results
• Share the story with executives in clear, bottom-line-first updates

Education & Experience-

• 10+ years of progressive P&C insurance experience in underwriting, portfolio management, or underwriting operations (Commercial or Farm preferred)
• 5+ years managing teams; experience leading managers preferred
• Experience with portfolio analytics, quality review, premium audit, or workflow automation

Hiring Range: $172,100 - $200,800*

Salary Range: $172,100 - $222,700
