Job summary

Penn State University invites applications for the Director of Portfolio Development & Innovation within Penn State Executive Programs. This role partners with the Managing Director to translate strategy into actionable plans, oversee portfolio performance, and drive continuous improvement across custom and open-enrollment programs.

You will help with client discovery, solution development, program quality, and the use of technology and AI to improve processes and learner experiences.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in business, education, organizational development, learning and development, or related.
• 10+ years of relevant experience in professional or executive education, corporate learning, talent or leadership development, consulting, client services, or another program-based environment.
• 3+ years of fulltime supervisory experience.
• Demonstrated business acumen.
• Experience consulting with senior leaders to assess professional development needs, identify opportunities, and develop strategic solutions.
• Exceptional stakeholder management, communication, and change leadership skills.
• Executive presence and ability to communicate effectively with clients at all levels, faculty, and colleagues.
• Strong presentation, facilitation, organization, and follow-through.

Responsibilities

• Strategy Execution: translate strategic priorities into actionable plans, milestones, and review cycles to support disciplined execution and portfolio performance.
• Innovation, AI & Technology Enablement: identify technology-enabled improvements and advance uses of AI to improve productivity and learner experiences.
• Program & Portfolio Management: coordinate program planning and delivery while ensuring high-quality learner and client experience.
• Client & Cross-Functional Partnerships: engage with business development and program teams to shape custom learning solutions.
