New York City Department of Consumer and Worker Protection seeks an Assistant to the Commissioner to supervise research, analyze legislation, and coordinate policy initiatives in New York City.

You will lead staff, prepare testimony for hearings, liaise with city offices, and help shape DCWP’s regulatory agenda while balancing schedules and public input. Local residency requirements apply; up to two remote workdays weekly may be possible.

Responsabilités

• Supervising subordinate staff to conduct and interpret research and monitor legislation.
• Coordinating with divisional leadership on research efforts, data analysis, legislation and advocacy.
• Leading DCWP’s participation in public hearings and drafting testimony with data insights.
• Liaising with the Mayor’s Office and other offices to advance policy proposals.
• Building relationships with government agencies, researchers, and advocacy groups.
• Drafting reports and maintaining records; managing special projects as needed.
• Directing efforts to gather and transcribe public comments on proposed DCWP rules.
