Job summary

Sonic Healthcare USA, Inc. seeks a Director of Platform Engineering to shape the enterprise infrastructure strategy across data centers, cloud, and hybrid environments.

Lead Windows/Linux, virtualization, storage, backup, and DR programs while driving automation, IaC, and platform standardization to support critical clinical and business operations. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive infrastructure engineering experience.
• 5+ years of leadership experience managing infrastructure and engineering teams.
• Deep expertise in enterprise infrastructure, cloud platforms, data centers, virtualization, disaster recovery, and platform resiliency.
• Experience leading large-scale infrastructure transformation and modernization initiatives.
• Strong understanding of networking, compute, storage, virtualization, and cloud architecture.
• Experience managing large operational and capital budgets.
• Healthcare or regulated industry experience preferred.
• Certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect or AWS Solutions Architect are a plus.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or Ansible.
• Experience supporting mergers, acquisitions, and infrastructure integrations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the enterprise platform engineering roadmap and infrastructure strategy.
• Lead the design, management, and modernization of data centers, colocation facilities, cloud platforms, and hybrid infrastructure environments.
• Oversee Windows, Linux, virtualization, compute, storage, backup, and platform engineering operations.
• Drive cloud adoption, infrastructure automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and platform standardization initiatives.
• Establish and maintain disaster recovery, business continuity, and resiliency strategies for mission-critical systems.
• Partner with Cybersecurity, Enterprise Architecture, Application Development, Data & Analytics, and Operations teams to deliver secure and scalable solutions.
• Optimize infrastructure performance, reliability, availability, and cost efficiency.
• Manage strategic vendor relationships, contracts, and multimillion-dollar infrastructure budgets.
• Lead and develop high-performing engineering teams while fostering innovation and continuous improvement.
