Job summary

Sonic Healthcare USA seeks an experienced Director of Platform Engineering to lead enterprise infrastructure modernization, data centers, cloud and hybrid platforms, and platform resilience. This leadership role focuses on automation, IaC, recovery planning, and cost-efficient operations across the organization.

The position drives collaboration with Cybersecurity, Enterprise Architecture, and Applications teams to deliver secure, scalable infrastructure supporting clinical and business

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive infrastructure engineering experience.
• 5+ years of leadership experience managing infrastructure and engineering teams.
• Deep expertise in enterprise infrastructure, cloud platforms and disaster recovery.
• Experience leading large-scale transformation and modernization initiatives.
• Strong networking, compute, storage, virtualization, and cloud architecture knowledge.
• Experience managing large operational and capital budgets.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the enterprise platform engineering roadmap and infrastructure strategy.
• Lead design, management, and modernization of data centers, colocation, cloud, and hybrid environments.
• Oversee Windows, Linux, virtualization, compute, storage, backup, and platform operations.
• Drive cloud adoption, IaC, automation, and platform standardization initiatives.
• Establish disaster recovery and business continuity strategies for critical systems.
• Partner with Cybersecurity, EA, App Development, Data & Analytics, and Ops teams.
• Optimize performance, reliability, availability, and cost efficiency.
• Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and multimillion-dollar budgets.
• Lead and develop high-performing engineering teams with a culture of automation.
