Job summary

Sonic Healthcare USA is seeking an experienced Director of Platform Engineering to lead the design, delivery, and modernization of our enterprise infrastructure platforms across data centers, cloud, and hybrid environments. You will drive automation, resiliency, and cost efficiency while partnering with cybersecurity and operations teams to support clinical and business operations nationwide.

The role demands 10+ years in infrastructure engineering, 5+ years in leadership, and strong expertise

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of progressive infrastructure engineering experience.
• 5+ years of leadership experience managing infrastructure and engineering teams.
• Deep expertise in enterprise infrastructure, cloud platforms, data centers, colocation services, virtualization, disaster recovery, and platform resiliency.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the enterprise platform engineering roadmap and infrastructure strategy.
• Lead design, management, and modernization of data centers, colocation facilities, cloud platforms, and hybrid infrastructure environments.
• Oversee Windows, Linux, virtualization, compute, storage, backup, and platform engineering operations.
• Drive cloud adoption, infrastructure automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and platform standardization initiatives.
• Establish disaster recovery, business continuity, and resiliency strategies for mission-critical systems.
• Partner with Cybersecurity, Enterprise Architecture, Application Development, Data & Analytics, and Operations teams to deliver secure and scalable solutions.
• Optimize infrastructure performance, reliability, availability, and cost efficiency.
• Manage strategic vendor relationships, contracts, and multimillion-dollar infrastructure budgets.
• Lead and develop high-performing engineering teams while fostering a culture of innovation, automation, and continuous improvement.
