Job summary

Datavant is seeking a Director of Software Engineering to define and lead the engineering function behind our internal platforms. You will manage the people, standards, and technical direction for the domain, guiding engineering managers and leads in a matrixed, pod-based delivery model.

You will champion quality, drive architectural vision, and partner across security, compliance, and product to deliver value-stream outcomes such as Order-to-Cash and Lead-to-Contract.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering experience with leadership responsibilities.
• Hands-on technical background; can read and reason about code and system design.
• Experience defining systems-level architectural and technology vision.

Responsibilities

• Build, grow, and lead a world-class team of software engineers, engineering managers, and technical leads.
• Set engineering standards and technology direction for the domain, including practices, architecture, and debt management.
• Own shared platform services delivered as products used by other teams.
• Ensure production-ready delivery that meets needs and minimizes future rework.
• Partner with product, architecture, security, and compliance in cross-functional pods to deliver value-stream outcomes.
• Serve as a senior technical advisor on architecture and trade-offs.
