Job summary

WTTW and WFMT seek a Planned Giving Director to drive strategic direction for the planned giving program, coordinating with the Development team to maximize bequests, major gifts, and blended giving opportunities.

You will cultivate relationships with donors, executors, trust officers, and attorneys, and lead the Newt Minow Legacy Circle while reporting to the Vice President of Development.

Qualifications

• 7-10+ years of development experience, preferably in planned giving or related fields.
• Experience managing a comprehensive planned giving program and familiarity with planned giving vehicles and trends.
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills; strong communication with mature donor audiences.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail.
• Familiarity with donor databases; Tessitura experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the overall planned giving strategy and multi-year growth plan.
• Establish annual and long-term goals for planned gift expectancies, documented gifts, realized estate gifts, and donor engagement.
• Monitor industry trends and emerging gift vehicles and recommend program enhancements.
• Develop and manage the planned giving program budget, including marketing, stewardship, and events.
• Cultivate and steward Newt Minow Legacy Circle members and advise stakeholders.
• Plan and execute events such as advisor seminars, estate planning seminars, and webinars.
