Job summary

The Salvation Army North & Central Illinois Division is seeking a seasoned Planned Giving leader to plan, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive fund development program. You will manage a team of Planned Giving Representatives, oversee donor portfolios of 75–100 prospects, and drive strategies for major gifts in coordination with leadership.

The role requires strong fundraising expertise, budgeting, and travel across donor sites.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred (law/finance/organizational management).
Experience in planned giving, major gifts, or related fields is essential.
Knowledge of estate and tax planning, and related ethical/legal issues.
Strong organizational and supervisory abilities; board/committee experience valued.

Responsibilities

Oversee goal setting and operation of the planned giving program for the Western Division.
Assign donor portfolios (75–100 prospects) and collaborate with staff.
Develop solicitation strategies and cultivate relationships with prospects.
Meet activity targets and close gifts aligned with annual goals.
Coordinate with Territorial Director of Planned Giving and ED of Development.
Lead team of Planned Giving Representatives and supervise Gift/Estate Planning staff.
Maintain donor database; report progress to Division and Territory.
Create stewardship and marketing plans for planned giving donors.
Develop education for attorneys/trust officers/CPAs to increase knowledge.
Prepare annual budgets and monitor expenditures; travel as needed.
Driving is a requirement; comply with safety and vehicle policies.
Other duties as assigned.
