Job summary

The University of Hawaiʻi Foundation is seeking an Associate Director of Development, Estate & Gift Planning. The role focuses on identifying, qualifying, engaging and soliciting donors for planned and blended gifts supporting UH System and its campuses.

The position emphasizes prospect qualification, in-person and virtual donor meetings, and meticulous follow-through. It collaborates with development officers and AVP to embed planned giving into prospect pipelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 2+ years in nonprofit, development, or related settings preferred; planned giving a plus.
• Proven success in qualifying prospects, developing gift strategies, and soliciting/closing gifts.
• Strong written communication with clear, timely reports and donor correspondence.
• Willingness to travel interisland and nationally as needed.

Responsibilities

• Qualify prospects for planned gifts and determine gift vehicles.
• Cultivate and solicit donors for bequests, CGAs, CRTs, QCDs and blended gifts.
• Schedule and conduct donor meetings to build trust and move toward a gift.
• Prepare gift illustrations and vehicle options for donor evaluatio
• Document contact reports and maintain timely next steps.
