Job summary

The University of Virginia External Relations team seeks an Associate Director of Gift Planning to cultivate and solicit planned and outright gifts, partnering with UVA schools and units to grow support. The role blends strategic fundraising with donor engagement and charitable planning in a collaborative setting.

The successful candidate will navigate estate planning conversations, provide gift planning guidance, and work across UVA to educate staff about planned giving and joint donor visits

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Some experience in finance, law, or estate planning.
• A valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Guide donors through charitable planning opportunities and secure gifts.
• Educate donors and development colleagues about gift planning strategies and giving vehicles.
• Identify, qualify, cultivate, and solicit UVA planned giving prospects across the portfolio.
