Job summary

The Salvation Army Midland Divisional Headquarters in St. Louis, Missouri seeks a Director of Gift & Estate Planning to lead the promotion, development and securing of planned gifts within the Midland Division.

This full-time, exempt role requires strong donor relations, strategic planning and collaboration with the Planned Giving Department to meet annual goals while maintaining confidentiality and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and four years of proven development/related field experience in planned giving.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision and travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Solicit and secure deferred gifts from prospects and donors within Salvation Army policies.
• Work with planned giving director to set annual goals and objectives.
• Develop cultivation and stewardship of donors using moves management.
• Identify and qualify donor prospects and build committees with volunteers and professionals.
• Prepare deferred giving proposals for prospects, attorneys and donors.
• Engage in public speaking to professionals and the public on estate planning.
