Job summary

R1 RCM Inc. is seeking a Director of Process Engineering, Physician Billing, to partner with physician billing leadership to understand workflows and translate needs into clear requirements for Product and Engineering. You will guide development to ensure tech meets billing operations and supports implementation.

You will travel up to 25% and lead discovery, mapping, and documentation while mentoring others and presenting strategies to executives.

Qualifications

• Eight or more years of healthcare operations experience, including revenue cycle management.
• Experience leading and managing associates.
• Ability to translate complex workflows into clear requirements and plans.
• Strong Excel skills used to analyze data and identify trends.
• Knowledge of payer portals, EHRs, and revenue cycle workflows.

Responsibilities

• Partner with physician billing leadership to map current workflows and pain points.
• Translate operational needs into buildable product and engineering requirements.
• Guide adaptation of technology to meet physician billing needs.
• Lead discovery, process mapping, documentation, testing, and implementation support.
• Analyze data to identify root causes, trends, and automation opportunities.
• Mentor team members and report progress to leadership.
