The program director must supervise the medical director, principal and instructional faculty and staff in activities that directly relate to the PA program.

Minimum Qualifications

A current PA license is required. PA and PA-C (current or emeritus) Three years of full-time higher education experience at the time of appointment. Current or emeritus NCCPA certification status. The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in management in a higher education setting and must be either NCCPA or board-certified MD/DO. The ideal candidate will have documented academic PA program teaching experience as a principal program faculty, and at least five years clinical and/or academic experience as a PA or MD/DO. Clear understanding of ARC -PA Standards (v.4 and v5) Understanding of program self-study process Experience with data collection, analysis, and interpretation.

Preferred Qualifications

The program director must provide effective leadership by exhibiting: responsiveness to issues related to personnel, strong communication skills, and proactive problem solving The program director must be knowledgeable about and responsible for: program organization, program administration, fiscal management of the program, continuous programmatic review and analysis, program planning, program development, completion of ARC -PA required documents, and adherence to the Standards and ARC -PA policies.
