Job summary

Indiana University Health is seeking a Director of Physical Security to shape and execute the enterprise-wide security strategy. You will lead a team responsible for access control, surveillance, and badging across IU Health facilities, ensuring patient and staff safety while managing the security budget.

The role requires strong leadership, deep technical knowledge of physical security hardware standards, and the ability to collaborate with senior leaders to drive innovation in security

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience is required.
• 7–10 years of relevant experience in physical security.
• Experience with security systems, access control hardware/software and video surveillance.
• Technical expertise in physical security hardware standards and practices.

The Director-Physical Security is responsible for developing and leading the enterprise-wide physical security strategy for IU Health. Ensures the safety of patients, team members, and facilities by overseeing the design, implementation, and management of security systems. Provides strategic leadership, develops and manages the departmental budget, and directs a team that delivers access control, surveillance, badging, and other physical security solutions across the IU Health network. Maintains industry knowledge, positioning IU Health to innovate physical security practices and technology.

Reports to: Vice President – Security Safety and Disaster Preparedness

Candidate Qualifications

Candidates for the position will be evaluated according to the following criteria and competencies.

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of experience is required.
• Requires 7-10 years of relevant experience.
• Requires experience managing physical security systems, including access control hardware and software and video surveillance.
• Requires technical expertise in physical security hardware standards and practices.
• Lenel/Milestone technician certifications are a plus.
• Supervision and management experience is a plus.
