Job summary

Indiana University Health is seeking an Advisor-Environmental Health and Safety to lead regional clinical and operational teams in developing and implementing improved infection prevention and control practices. You will ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and serve as a resource for facilities management, emergency management, and design teams.

Collaborating with state and IU Health leaders, you will mentor staff, review work, and advance environmental health and safety initiatives

Qualifications

  • Requires 5-7 years of healthcare environmental health and safety experience.
  • NFPA Life Safety Specialist, OSHA 10 hour and 30 hour General Industry certifications required within 6 months of hire.
  • Joint Commission, AAAHC, DNV or ISO experience is required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead regional clinical and operational teams to develop, implement, and execute infection prevention and control practices.
  • Provide direction, mentorship, and resources for facilities management, emergency management, and design and construction teams.
  • Collaborate with State of Indiana and IU Health leaders on environmental safety concerns.

Indiana University Health is seeking individuals who embody these values to join our ASC Admin team in the role of Advisor-Environmental Health and Safety.

The Advisor-Environmental Health and Safety leads regional clinical and operational teams to develop, implement, and execute improved infection prevention and control practices. It assists with established infection prevention and control standards and practices that are evidence-based and consistent with regulatory requirements. The role provides direction, work review, and mentorship, and serves as a resource for regional facilities management, emergency management, and design and construction team members. It also collaborates cross-functionally with State of Indiana and IU Health leaders on new and emerging environmental safety concerns.

Reports to: Director-Clinical Performance Improvement

Candidate Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of experience is required.
  • Requires 5-7 years of healthcare environmental health and safety experience.
  • NFPA Life Safety Specialist, OSHA 10 hour and 30 hour General Industry certifications are required within 6 months of hire.
  • Joint Commission, AAAHC, DNV or ISO experience is required.
  • Large system regional infection prevention experience is preferred.
  • Facilities management experience is preferred.
