Job summary

Blue Shield of California is seeking a Director, Pharmacist - Pharmacy Data & Analytics to lead the organization’s data, reporting, analytics, and BI strategy for a pharmacy spend portfolio over $5B annually. You will translate complex data into insights that drive affordability, outcomes, and operational performance across lines of business.

You will partner with Pharmacy Strategy, Formulary, Clinical, Finance, Actuarial, Product, Operations, and external vendors to develop advanced analytical

Qualifications

• Requires active California Registered Pharmacist (RPh) license
• Requires PharmD degree from an accredited U.S. school of pharmacy
• Minimum 10 years in healthcare analytics, BI, or data science
• Minimum 6 years of people management experience
• Experience with large healthcare datasets (pharmacy/medical claims, eligibility, provider, financial data)
• Experience with data visualization/BI tools (PowerBI/Tableau/BO)
• Experience with SQL and healthcare data warehousing
• Cloud data experience (Azure/Snowflake/Databricks/AWS/GCP)
• Understanding of healthcare quality measures and regulatory reporting
• Excellent presentation and written skills, ability to communicate complex ideas
• Detail-oriented and fast-paced
• Solution-oriented mindset

Responsibilities

• Lead the data, reporting, analytics, and BI strategy for the pharmacy organization
• Translate complex healthcare data into actionable insights to improve affordability, outcomes, and operations
• Develop enterprise analytics frameworks and performance measures
• Collaborate with Strategy, Formulary, Clinical, Finance, Actuarial, Product, Operations, and vendors
• Oversee trend and cost analyses and regulatory reporting
