The role emphasizes financial stewardship, regulatory compliance, staff development, and patient-centered care, with a focus on improving outcomes and maintaining quality standards in a Level II Trauma Center in Northern California.

Qualifications

• Minimum: Five years clinical nursing experience in Surgical Services.
• Three years perioperative charge nurse or other related supervisory experience.
• Master’s degree in nursing or related field (will consider someone who understands that they will be expected to be on the way to finishing a program).
• Desired: Recent management experience.
• Membership in a professional organization and attendance to conferences regarding management and supervision of employees.

Responsibilities

• The Director coordinates and supervises 24/7 daily operations of the unit.
• Participates in program development and unit performance improvement.
• Leads staff, supports organizational goals, and implements changes.
• Maintains quality service and regulatory compliance.
• Manages budgets, productivity targets, and resource utilization.
• Supervises staff in service areas and educates team members.
• Performs nursing assessments and plans patient care using a multidisciplinary approach.
• Documents care according to policy and standards.
