Job summary

Vital Farms is seeking a Director, People to lead strategic Human Resources initiatives for our Commercial & Support functions. This role partners with DevEx, Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, and People Ops to design and implement talent strategies for VP-level leaders and Executives, with a focus on our remote workforce.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years' experience in Human Resources, preferably in a CPG
• Demonstrated success implementing efficient, creative, user-friendly HR programs
• Experience managing people and advising leaders in a remote environment
• Ability to work in a fluid, fast paced environment, while prioritizing crew care & empathy
• High degree of business acumen and analytical capability
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills – both written and verbal
• Bias for action with experience leveraging data insights to drive decision making
• Intermediate in all Microsoft platforms; comfort in navigating HRIS and other People management systems
• Ability to travel 20-25% for meetings, offsites, onboarding and/or development opportunities

Responsibilities

• Act as primary People Business Partner to VP & Sr Dir population, translating objectives into talent plans
• Lead headcount planning and succession strategies for rapid growth
• Evaluate and iterate on team structures and operating models for effective teamwork
• Move beyond annual reviews toward continuous feedback and coaching leaders
• Identify skill gaps and design development programs with DevEx
• Ensure crew care is felt by remote employees from onboarding onward
• Use surveys and analytics to identify trends and address hot spots
• Develop relationships with leaders as a trusted advisor and influencer
• Execute strategic initiatives with business collaborators
• Lead compliance with employment law and safety regulations in partnership with legal
