Director, People Operations (NYC)

About Role

Ring Concierge is seeking a Director, People Operations to manage talent acquisition and HR operations. The role involves attracting top talent, enhancing employee experience, and ensuring smooth HR processes. Key responsibilities include recruitment strategies, onboarding, employee development, and implementing operational best practices. The ideal candidate is organized, resourceful, and thrives in a fast-paced environment; they know what great looks like, and they want to put their stamp on our people function. This is a team of one, with the possibility of building out the people function as the business grows in the coming years.

Responsibilities

Talent Acquisition

  • Maintain and adapt annual hiring plans to align with the company's evolving needs.
  • Oversee full-cycle recruiting, including ATS management, sourcing candidates (job boards, referrals, networking), resume screening, and initial interviews.
  • Manage interview scheduling from initial contact to offer, including day-of communication and logistics.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to create job descriptions, recruitment strategies, and interview processes.
  • Prepare and present job offers, negotiate terms, and facilitate pre-boarding.
  • Partner with hiring managers to develop onboarding and training plans, including 2-week training programs and 30-60-90 day goals.
  • Partner with staffing agencies to fulfill hiring needs.
  • Serve as primary contact for LinkedIn, using their expertise to analyze recruitment metrics and improve employer branding.
  • Proactively enhance employee and candidate experiences through process, tool, and system improvements.

People Operations

  • Manage onboarding, offboarding, and HR systems updates.
  • Conduct new hire orientations to ensure a positive first-day experience.
  • Support the development, communication, and enforcement of company policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the rollout of the annual performance review cycle, including determining the timeline, review questions, and post-review conversations.
  • Gather and analyze market compensation data to guide job leveling, compensation, and bonus guidance, and support annual headcount planning.

Employee Engagement

  • Serve as the point of contact for employees, addressing their concerns, fostering a positive work environment, and escalating issues as needed.
  • Collaborate with Office Management to lead employee engagement initiatives, aiming to cultivate a positive workplace culture, boost employee satisfaction, and encourage participation in company events and activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • 7+ years of experience.
  • Experience in retail, ecommerce, or a high-growth start-up environment.
  • Experience in multistate operations preferred.
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including recruiting, compensation, benefits, performance management, leave administration, employee relations, diversity, and federal and state employment laws.
  • Proficiency in G-Suite, Slack, Employee Engagement Software (15five), ATS Platforms (Greenhouse), PEO/HRIS (Trinet).

Compensation: $170,000 - $180,000 base salary
