Location: Remote in AZ, CA, DC, FL, GA, ID, IL, IN, MD, MA, MI, MN, NJ, NY, NC, OH, OK, PA, TN, TX, VA, WA, WI

Genesys Works is a national leader in providing pathways to career success for high school students in underserved communities through skills training, meaningful work experiences, and impactful relationships. Currently in 8 cities across the country, we are positioning ourselves for future growth and have an exciting opportunity for a strategic human-centered leader to join the National team as our Director, People & Culture.

Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the Director, People & Culture will lead the Dynamic Workplace strategy, ensuring that our people and culture strategies support the organization's mission and growth. This is a new position and will have two direct reports.

Working in collaboration with other leaders and colleagues, the Director, People & Culture will be responsible for the following:

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee a reimagined, strategic HR function that is people-centric and aligned with the mission and future direction of Genesys Works.
  • Develop and execute talent strategy including internal hiring and onboarding practices that ensure equity, efficiency, and alignment with organizational culture.
  • Oversee learning and development initiatives to support employee growth, leadership development, and retention.
  • Manage performance management and feedback systems to promote continuous improvement and accountability.
  • Manage retreats, employee recognition programs, and initiatives related to positive organizational culture and belonging.
  • Manage the HRIS to ensure accurate systems administration, reporting, and HR operations.
  • Manage relationship with HR business partner to ensure compliance, quality service delivery, and cost efficiency.
  • Partner with the Chief Administrative Officer to implement strategic people and culture initiatives, including change management, policy development, and workforce planning.
  • Serve as a thought partner across the organization to ensure HR and people-centered practices are inclusive, forward-looking, and support a high-performing, values-driven culture.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate has the following:

  • 5+ years of progressive HR, People & Culture experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership or people management role.
  • Demonstrated success leading HR transformation or building strategic people functions in mission-driven environments.
  • Strong expertise in talent development, building culture, employee engagement, and performance management.
  • Ability to foster a positive, inclusive, and equitable organizational culture.
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and collaboration skills with a coaching mindset.
  • Experience with HRIS systems and vendor management.
  • Experience with performance management processes and systems
  • Experience with engagement strategies and processes
  • Deep commitment to the mission of Genesys Works and the young people we serve.
