Job summary

Scorpion Therapeutics is seeking a senior DMPK scientist to lead and grow our PBPK/PBBM capabilities, defining workflows, standards, and software strategy. You will translate preclinical data to human PK and support first-in-human dose selection.

You will collaborate with CMC, regulatory teams, and CROs to build mechanistic models (GastroPlus, Simcyp) and deliver actionable recommendations for formulation development and study design.

Qualifications

• PhD or PharmD in pharmaceutical sciences, DMPK, pharmacokinetics, chemical/biomedical engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years hands-on PBPK/PBBM experience.
• Deep ADME/DMPK and biopharmaceutics understanding.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow PBPK/PBBM capability, defining workflows, standards, best practices, and software strategy.
• Apply translational PBPK/PBBM to predict human PK and oral bioavailability across species, formulations, and dose levels, and support first-in-human dose selection.
• Partner with CMC to support formulation selection and optimization through PBBM.
• Develop IVIVC and mechanistic in vitro-in vivo dissolution models (e.g., DDDPlus) to link drug product performance to in vivo behavior, establish clinically relevant specifications, and support formulation bridging.
• Use PBPK for clinical pharmacology questions (DDIs, food effects, special populations such as pediatrics and organ impairment) to inform study design and dose adjustments.
• Embed in multidisciplinary project teams for real-time study-design support and rapid model iteration.
• Liaise with collaboration partners and CROs to generate data and analyses.
• Represent the DMPK perspective on project teams.
• Prepare reports and summary documents for regulatory submissions and independently respond to health authority questions.
