Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Director of Strategic Operations to lead the Payment Network initiatives in US & Canadian Markets Operations. You will drive transformation, modernize delivery frameworks, and steer complex payment strategies across a network of partners and internal teams.

You will champion end-to-end execution for next‑gen payment capabilities while engaging senior leaders to align on growth and operational standards. This is a high-impact, leadership role within Capital One.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of operations, consulting, program or project leadership in payments
• 5+ years of leading organizational change initiatives or process transformations
• 5+ years of managing, partnering with, and influencing internal and external stakeholders
• 10+ years of deep payments industry experience with mastery of payment network rules, card schemes and digital rails
• 6+ years of experience leading continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, Agile)
• PMP or Prosci Change Management certification (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Lead Payment Transformation & Process Modernization to accelerate product deployment.
• Drive Advanced Payment Product Delivery for EMV, Transit, ProtectBuy, tokenization, and digital wallets.
• Engage Strategic Partners with internal units and external network/fintech partners.
• Guide Business Development & Growth by evaluating market shifts and translating requirements into plans.
• Provide Thought Leadership on regulatory approvals, technical feasibility, and network rules.
• Scale operations capacity and infrastructure to support high-growth initiatives.
