Job description

Performance meets brand.

POLYWOOD is changing what it means to own outdoor furniture. For 35 years, we’ve built iconic outdoor furniture from recycled HDPE lumber, designed to outlast weather, kids, and trends.

We’re a vertically integrated American manufacturer with a brand that’s growing into something bigger: the outdoor home.

As we scale into the next era of brand-led growth, we’re building a marketing team that brings that story to life, with cultural relevance, creator partnerships, and paid investment that reinforces the brand at every turn.

We’re looking for a Director, Paid Media to lead POLYWOOD’s paid acquisition strategy across digital, social, and direct mail.

This is a senior, hands‑on leadership role for someone who knows how to drive performance without losing sight of the brand.

You’ll own the strategy, the budget allocation, and the agency relationships that bring POLYWOOD in front of new customers every day. You’ll lead a strong in‑house team, partner closely with our agency of record on day‑to‑day execution, and collaborate with our internal Creative, Brand Communications, and Commerce teams to make sure every dollar of paid media reinforces the brand, not just the transaction.

You’ll report to the SVP, Brand Marketing and work in lock step with him on catalog strategy and overall paid investment direction.

------------------------------------------

About Us

Paid Media is one of four functions inside POLYWOOD’s Brand Marketing organization, the team that brings our brand into the world and into customers’ lives.

Paid media is how we reach new customers, but at POLYWOOD it’s also how we reinforce the brand at every touchpoint.

This role is where performance meets brand, where the budget meets the strategy, and where every dollar we spend earns its place by building POLYWOOD into a brand customers don’t just buy from but believe in.

------------------------------------------

The Work You’ll Love Doing

This is not a role for someone who only wants to manage from a distance.

We need someone who can set the strategy, manage a meaningful budget, partner with a strong agency, and still stay close enough to the day-to-day work to know what is driving results.

You will help shape the trajectory of our paid media function and bring stronger internal leadership to a space with a lot of white space, a lot of the right pieces, and a lot of opportunity.

You will be trusted to run with the work, build alongside the agency, and make sure the strategy connects to the larger purpose of the brand.

------------------------------------------

Where You Will Make an Impact
  • Lead POLYWOOD’s paid acquisition strategy across paid social, paid search, programmatic, affiliate, and catalog/direct mail
  • Own annual planning, budget allocation, and channel mix across all paid channels, in partnership with the SVP, Brand Marketing
  • Manage and develop a high‑performing in‑house team, starting with the Paid Social Media Manager and growing as the function scales
  • Direct the day‑to‑day relationship with our agency of record, holding them to high standards on strategy, creative testing, performance, and reporting
  • Partner with the SVP, Brand Marketing on catalog and direct mail strategy, including audience, format, drop calendar, and matchback measurement
  • Collaborate with the Director, Digital Shelf to ensure retail media investment is coordinated with the broader paid media plan
  • Partner with Brand Communications and the Influencer & PR Manager on how creator content and affiliate work shows up in paid amplification
  • Partner with Creative on paid creative testing, performance learnings, and the brief-to-asset pipeline
  • Own performance reporting across all paid channels, with a clear point of view on what’s working, what’s not, and where to invest next
  • Build a measurement framework that goes beyond last-click ROAS, including incrementality testing, brand lift, and full‑funnel attribution
  • Stay ahead of platform shifts, privacy changes, and emerging channels, bringing a strategic point of view to where POLYWOOD should invest next

------------------------------------------

What You Bring

You have deep experience in paid media, performance marketing, or paid acquisition, ideally with a DTC consumer brand or within an agency supporting consumer brand accounts.

You know paid social, paid search, and programmatic. You have managed meaningful paid media budgets, ideally multi‑million dollar budgets, and you are comfortable making decisions about where to invest, where to pull back, and how to explain why.

You are data‑driven without being one‑dimensional. You know how to optimize for performance, but you also understand that every paid touchpoint either strengthens or weakens the brand.

You are comfortable managing agency partners and internal teammates. You can collaborate, push back, ask better questions, and hold the work to a higher standard without needing to micromanage.

You are strategic, but you are also willing to dig in.

------------------------------------------

What Makes This Role Special
  • There is meaningful white space to shape what comes next.
  • You will partner with a strong agency and a talented internal team.
  • You will manage a great Paid Social Media Manager.
  • You will be trusted to run with the work.
  • You will help connect paid media strategy to the larger brand purpose.
  • You will join a stable, growing company with a brand people know and believe in.
