Job summary

Heinen’s, Inc. in Warrensville Heights, OH, is seeking a Director of Packaged Goods to lead Grocery, Dairy, Frozen, and Wellness.

You will shape merchandising, pricing, assortment, and vendor partnerships, guiding a team of Category Managers and Field Merchandisers to drive sales and margin while closely partnering with Marketing, Supply Chain, Operations, and Finance. You will analyze trends, develop annual plans, optimize space and planograms, and manage supplier relationships to deliver value

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field.
• Ten years of progressive experience in category management, merchandising, or product management, including leadership.
• Ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
• Strong analytical, financial, and strategic planning skills.
• Proven negotiation and relationship management experience.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic retail environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategies for Grocery, Dairy, and Frozen departments to achieve sales, margin, and market share objectives.
• Analyze category performance, customer trends, competitive activity, and pricing to identify opportunities and recommend strategic actions.
• Develop annual business plans and monitor performance against financial goals.
• Establish merchandising strategies, guidelines, and standards including seasonal, event, and promotional merchandising.
• Provide strategic direction for space planning and analytics to support objectives.
• Provide leadership and oversight for planogram development and execution.
• Lead, coach, and develop Category Managers, Field Merchandisers, and the Wellness Director to achieve objectives.
• Establish performance expectations and promote accountability and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Supply Chain, Operations, and Finance to support product availability and category initiatives.
• Champion the growth of private label brands and long-term merchandising strategies.
