Job summary

Transamerica is seeking a Director of ORM Methodology and Reporting to lead the development and deployment of enterprise-wide operational risk management frameworks. You will shape risk identification, assessment, monitoring, and reporting, partnering with senior leaders to drive a resilient risk-aware culture.

Based in Cedar Rapids with a hybrid in-office schedule, you will oversee policy, analytics, and governance, while mentoring risk professionals and ensuring compliance with global ORM

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in accounting, finance, or relevant field.
• 12 years of experience in operational risk management or internal controls, or equivalent management experience.
• Progressive leadership experience in operational risk management, internal controls, audit, or relevant field.
• In-depth knowledge of risk management principles, including processes, risks, controls, and metrics.
• Analytical skills to identify risk trends and changing risk levels.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to present and interact with management.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for ORM methodology and standards across the enterprise.
• Own and evolve the operational risk policy, framework and underlying methodologies, aligning to regulatory expectations.
• Lead development of enterprise and functional non-financial risk reporting, including dashboards and risk insights.
• Translate complex risk information into compelling narratives for the Board and risk committees.
• Serve as trusted advisor to Risk leadership on complex operational risk matters and control effectiveness.
• Oversee governance and execution of risk issue management with clear reporting of outcomes.
