Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal Private Equity Performance Improvement is seeking a Director of Operations & Manufacturing to lead manufacturing and distribution optimization for portfolio companies within a private equity framework.

The candidate should have 10–15+ years in industry and consulting, with at least 4 years in manufacturing or distribution, and deep Lean/Six Sigma/TOC expertise. An MBA is a plus, and collaboration with C-suite and PE teams is essential.

Qualifications

• 10–15+ years of combined professional industry and consulting experience, with a minimum of 4 years specializing in manufacturing and/or distribution functions.
• Experience working for or with private equity sponsors and portfolio companies.
• Proven ability to work with C-suite executives and private equity deal/operating partners.
• MBA is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Gain comprehensive understanding of target's manufacturing and distribution operations, including organization design, capacity, efficiency, quality, planning, warehousing.
• Evaluate maintainability and operability of production facilities.
• Review current/historical data to understand efficiency and capacity, including equipment conditions and maintenance logs.
• Provide shop floor insights by talking with employees and customers and reviewing data.
• Identify cost improvement opportunities through lean improvements, outsourcing, or consolidation of facilities.
• Develop transformation plans to drive proposed changes and identify risks and mitigations.
• Implement and oversee the quality of deliverables and manage the team and day-to-day relationships.
