United Utility Services is seeking a Director of Operations for its B&B Electrical unit in New Orleans. This role leads operational excellence, optimizes resources, and upholds safety and quality across projects. Expect travel to job sites and crew locations, with a company vehicle or stipend provided.

The position emphasizes strategic planning, staff mentorship, and collaboration with finance and safety departments to drive growth and project delivery.

Qualifications

• Progressive leadership experience with a Power Utility Contract organization or IOU.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
• Minimum 15 years in operations management within electric utilities.
• 5+ years managing day-to-day ops of distribution crews at Foreman level or above.
• Proven track record leading large-scale utility projects.
• Strong understanding of transmission, substation, and distribution operations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.
• Strong computer skills with MS Office.

Salary

The salary range for this position is $175,000.00–$200,000.00 annually. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role.

About The Role

As the Director of Operations at B&B Electrical, a United Utility Services company, you will play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence and advancing our mission of delivering top-tier utility services. Your strategic leadership will ensure the efficient execution of projects, optimize resource utilization, and uphold our commitment to safety and quality across all operational activities. With your guidance, we will continue to lead the charge in shaping the future of the electric utility landscape. The position will be in Louisianna and expected to spend a portion of the time traveling to jobsites and crew locations. A company vehicle or stipend will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate operational activities for Entergy Resiliency Program in Louisianna, New Orleans, and Texas.
• Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize operational efficiency and productivity.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution from inception to completion.
• Drive a culture of safety, quality, and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Identify and mitigate operational risks to minimize project disruptions and ensure timely delivery.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to project teams to foster professional growth and development.
• Work with Fleet and Safety Departments to ensure policies are in place and monitor compliance.
• Track company revenue, margins and monthly budget reviews.
• Assist on project estimates for OH/UG Distribution.
• Assist with bid reviews with upper management when applicable.
• Work with finance on company budget and growth strategies.

Key Qualifications

• Progressive leadership experience with a Power Utility Contract organization (foreman/general foreman/superintendent/operations manager) or progressive leadership positions with an Investor Owned Utility (IOU).
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business Administration, or a related field or relevant work experience.
• Minimum of 15 years’ experience in operations management within the electric utility industry
• 5+ years’ experience managing the day-to-day operations of distribution crews with a focus on managing General Foreman level and above.
• Proven track record of successfully leading and managing large-scale utility projects.
• Strong understanding of utility operations, including transmission, substation, and distribution systems.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives and achieve operational excellence.
• Strong computer skills with extensive experience in Microsoft products
