Job summary

Capital One seeks a Director in the Business Continuity and Resilience Risk Management (BCRM) in the Second Line of Defense. You will oversee First Line risk-taking across Card, Retail, Commercial, Auto and Enterprise Services and implement the Enterprise Operational Resilience Framework with an emphasis on regulatory compliance.

You will report on crises, advise senior leadership, drive data-driven risk analysis, and partner across organizations to strengthen Capital One’s resilience posture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or military experience.
• At least 8 years of experience in risk management, business continuity, disaster recovery, operational resilience, or audit.
• At least 5 years of financial services industry experience or regulatory environment experience.
• At least 3 years of people management.
• At least 3 years of consulting with and presenting to senior executive leadership.

Responsibilities

• Oversee risk-taking by the First Line of Defense across Card, Retail, Commercial, Auto and Enterprise Services Lines.
• Implement and govern the Operational Resilience Framework across Capital One, including driving regulatory compliance.
• Respond to crises and incidents and report to leadership.
• Identify emerging resiliency risks and ensure First Line of Defense readiness.
• Act as a thought partner on evolving business continuity and resilience methodologies.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to achieve objectives across organizations.
• Coordinate activities and deliverables to ensure effective team collaboration.
• Explain complex technical concepts clearly in written and verbal form.
• Oversee data-driven, risk-based analyses from problem identification.
