Job summary

Wind River seeks a Senior Manager to lead the Open Source Program Office (OSPO) and AI Governance Program, providing strategic direction, governance policies, and cross-functional leadership across OSS and AI initiatives.

You will collaborate with Legal, Security, Privacy, Product, and Engineering to drive responsible use of OSS and AI, ensuring compliance and risk management across enterprise systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• 10+ years in software engineering, program management, governance, or leadership.
• 5+ years in people management of technical/compliance teams.
• Deep understanding of Open Source licenses (GPL, LGPL, Apache, MIT, BSD).
• Experience leading OSPO or governance function.
• Experience developing governance frameworks, policies, and compliance programs.
• Knowledge of AI governance, risk management, and regulatory considerations.
• Experience cross-functional with Legal, Security, Product, Engineering, and executives.

Responsibilities

• Lead OSPO governing Open Source and third-party software components across product lines.
• Ensure compliance with OSS licenses and third-party obligations.
• Develop governance policies, standards, and procedures.
• Oversee OSS review, approval, and audit processes.
• Enable employee participation in OSS communities and reviews.
• Drive OSS best practices across the software development lifecycle.
• Monitor OSS licensing trends and regulatory requirements.
• Lead AI governance program for responsible AI development and deployment.
• Partner with Legal, Security, Privacy, Product, and Engineering on AI risk management.
• Define governance for generative AI, ML and emerging AI tech.
• Establish metrics and reporting to measure governance effectiveness.
