Job summary

Solve Industrial Motion Group is seeking a Director of Warehouse Operations to lead distribution and assembly in the Distribution Center, ensuring safety, quality and on-time shipping. The role requires building a high-performing team, implementing Lean practices, and driving KPI-driven improvements.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in warehouse/manufacturing leadership, strong WMS and Robotic ASRS experience, and advanced Excel/Power BI skills for data-driven decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent.
• 8+ years of warehouse/distribution center or manufacturing management experience.
• 3+ years using a WMS to execute warehouse operations.
• 3+ years using a Robotic ASRS system for inventory storage and management.
• High proficiency in Excel, Power BI, and SQL.
• Experience managing multi-shift work schedules and optimizing labor and productivity across shifts.
• Understanding of P&L statements and OPEX costing structures.
• Continuous improvement experience; knowledge of Lean manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Hire, lead and develop Warehouse Supervisors and teams for shipping, receiving, inventory, order-picking and assembly.
• Ensure safety and compliance per health, safety, ISO9001:2015 QMS, OSHA, and 5S; oversee MHE maintenance and supplies.
• Drive lean culture by tracking KPIs and leading continuous improvement projects.
• Manage costs, overtime and labor efficiency to meet monthly/annual budgets.
• Ensure inventory accuracy via SOPs and cycle/bin counts.
• Collaborate with Engineering to manage internal rework and assembly for key customers.
• Lead daily/weekly huddles and communicate changes from leadership.

POSITION DESCRIPTION: Reporting to the VP and GM, the Director of Warehouse Operations, will be responsible for overseeing all distribution and assembly operations in the Distribution Center. This position will manage a wide range of warehouse operation responsibilities, such as: safety, quality, receiving, inventory and on-time and accurate shipping. The Director of Warehouse Operations will utilize their strong communication skills to develop, train and motivate their team to operate as a high-performing operation, to ensure organization metrics and KPI’s are being met. The ideal candidate will be motivated to lead with a continuous improvement mindset, while promoting and fostering a Lean operating environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Hire, lead and develop the Warehouse Supervisors and team to plan and manage the day-to-day operations for shipping, receiving, inventory management, order-picking and assembly
• Establish and assure a safe work environment by maintaining compliance with company policies concerning health and safety, within and according to the Solve ISO9001:2015 QMS, as well as OSHA standards and maintain a site-wide 5S program, MHE maintenance and repair program, and site indirect procurement program of warehouse supplies and equipment
• Foster a lean culture by monitoring key performance indicators, such as productivity, external accuracy, and same-day-ship percentage against goal, and driving continuous improvement projects for opportunities to improve these metrics
• Review and manage cost productivity and overtime, with a focus on efficient labor and operational costs per unit shipped in tandem with managing expenses to achieve monthly and annual budgets in accordance with forecast
• Ensure accuracy of physical inventory via the execution of Standard Operating Procedures, by initiating and managing cycle and bin count audits as scheduled
• Work in conjunction with the Solve Engineering team to manage internal rework and specialized assembly processes for key OEM customers
• Lead daily and weekly huddles/meetings with warehouse staff to identify and mitigate any concerns, lead gemba walks, and communicate any corresponding messages or relevant changes from other departments or company leadership
  QUALIFICATIONS :
• Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent)
• 8+ years of overall warehouse/distribution center or manufacturing management experience
• 3+ years of experience using a WMS to execute warehouse operations
• 3+ years of experience using Robotic ASRS system for inventory storage and management
• High proficiency in Excel, Power BI, (and/or sql)
• Experience managing multi-shift work schedules and optimizing labor and productivity across shifts
• Thorough understanding of P&L statements and OPEX costing structures
• Continuous improvement experience; knowledge of Lean manufacturing
  PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :
• Experience having worked in a high-volume, fast-paced production and distribution environment
• Six Sigma Certification
• Experience operating in an ISO9001:2015 Certified QMS facility
• Experience working in a bearings and power transmission industry
