PAY RANGE

The Target Pay Range for this position is $194,400.00-$237,800.00 annually. The full Pay Range is $151,400.00 - $280,900.00 annually. Compensation decisions are based on skills, experience, and education. If offered, individual qualifications will be considered. In addition to salary, performance-based incentives are available.

IMPACT YOU'LL MAKE

As a Director of Technology - Digital Banking, you will align technology initiatives with business goals, modernize platforms, and support digital transformation. You will lead strategic planning, engineering excellence, and modern architectures across Cloud, Data, API, and DevOps, impacting BECU's digital banking landscape through innovation and collaboration.

Location requirements: Candidates must reside in WA, OR, ID, AZ, TX, GA, or SC. WA residents near Tukwila are expected to work onsite on Tuesdays & Wednesdays. Others may work remotely, with full engagement ensured.

• Strategic Project Execution: Drive technology initiatives aligned with business goals.
• Engineering Excellence: Oversee technical requirements and delivery.
• Support Agile Delivery: Participate in Agile practices and remove blockers.
• Advance DevOps & CI/CD: Promote modern engineering practices.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with various teams to translate requirements.
• Mentor and Grow Talent: Support technical growth and foster accountability.
• Financial & Vendor Management: Manage budgets and vendor relationships.
• Production Stability: Ensure system reliability and resilience.
• Digital Banking: Lead in building digital capabilities with APIs and cloud services.

• Risk & Compliance: Lead in compliance and risk management.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 8+ years in IT, with application design and development expertise.
• 7+ years leading technology teams.
• Experience with financial products like credit cards, mortgages, auto loans, deposits.
• Experience managing large platforms and teams.
• Expertise in front-end tech, APIs, cloud platforms, and stability strategies.
• Ability to present to senior leadership and manage stakeholders.
• Experience with online and mobile banking solutions.

Desired Qualifications:

• Background in digital banking and cloud migration.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum and DevOps practices.
• Knowledge of JavaScript frameworks and mobile development.
• Understanding of user experience design.
