Job summary

PopUp Bagels in the Atlanta/ NYC area is seeking a Director of Technology to own the systems that run our day-to-day operations. This hands-on role requires coding, API work, and leveraging AI tools to move fast, from website updates to connectivity issues and operator reporting.

You will own ORBIT and our digital properties, unify data for reporting, and shape the infrastructure to scale as we expand. The role reports to the Sr.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years in technology, digital operations, or systems ownership in multi-unit settings.
• Hands-on coding ability and API experience with data querying.
• Fluent with AI tools and automation to drive efficiency.
• Experience with Airtable and BI/reporting tools like Power BI.
• Strong analytics across web and digital channels and dashboards.
• Experience managing websites/apps, releases, and vendor coordination.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve ORBIT, the internal operations platform, with coding and AI tooling.
• Own our digital properties, including website and app, updates, uptime, and content coordination.
• Build the data foundation by consolidating sales, operations, and platform data into a trusted source.
• Own analytics across digital channels, including dashboards and reporting on third-party platforms.
• Lead how we adopt AI internally, identifying leverage points and managing tools/spend.
• Manage technology infrastructure across sites, including networks and access management.
• Own identity and access controls and scale security as we grow.
• Provide training and technical support to operators and franchise partners.
• Run escalation and troubleshooting for recurring issues and patterns.
• Collaborate with platforms on integrations and data flows for ordering/delivery.
• Document processes and create training to scale the stack.
