Ferrum College invites applications for an Assistant/Associate Professor and Director of Teacher Education. This 12-month, hybrid role combines teaching with academic leadership, program administration, accreditation oversight, and community partnerships.

A 1:1 teaching load is expected, with responsibility for undergraduate and graduate programs. The successful candidate will guide curriculum development, assessment, licensure processes, and collaboration with local school divisions to advance

Formación

• Master's degree in Education or a related field is required.
• Experience in higher education or PK-12 education management is required.
• Knowledge of teacher licensure procedures and accreditation frameworks (VDOE/CAEP).
• College-level teaching and academic advising experience is desired.
• Strong budgeting, scheduling, and program assessment skills are essential.
• Commitment to collaborative decision-making and shared governance.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills are essential.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and refine program policies in collaboration with Teacher Education faculty.
• Oversee and allocate program budget resources per college/dept requirements.
• Manage admissions processes for undergraduate and graduate programs.
• Oversee student academic standing and program requirements.
• Provide academic advising to graduate and undergraduate education students.
• Establish course pathways for transfer students and coordinate rotations.
• Supervise faculty and administrative personnel and support operations.
• Lead accreditation site visits and ensure timely CAEP/VDOE compliance.
• Lead annual program assessment activities and report to committees.
• Build partnerships with local public and private school divisions.
