Responsible for the oversight and management of the student engagement unit, including student activities, student organizations, and student leadership. Serves as the primary student conduct and Title IX investigator. Ensures functions are represented in a multi-campus environment. Works closely with Dean on complex projects, tasks, and issues and occasionally represents the Dean on committees, boards, etc. Leads and collaborates with units in the Student Affairs division and cross-campus units to create and deliver programs and services focused on a creating a positive and engaging student experience.
Employee will report to the Dean of Students and is part of the Student Development division within the Division of Student Affairs. Employee works collaboratively with other departments throughout the College to create a sense of belonging and provide a safe and productive curricular and co-curricular learning environment. Employee must be able to work autonomously and be comfortable with a flexible work environment.
A bachelor's degree and experience in student services programs.
Master's Degree in College Student Affairs, Counseling, or related field and two years experience in higher education in judicial affairs, student engagement, student development, or similar operations. Employee must possess a working knowledge of student development theory and have the ability to work well with a broad range of student types including first-generation students, student veterans, traditional-age and adult students. Employee must be familiar with best practices around college student conduct and engagement. Employee should possess a working knowledge of state and federal regulations related to access, discrimination, and privacy, such as FERPA, student conduct and safety policies and procedures, Titles VI, VII, and IX, the CLERY Act; Experience in a leadership position with oversight to any of these items is preferred.
The employee must possess strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, strong oral and written communication skills, ability to create genuine relationships with college students that result in student accountability, and administrative skills and experience.
