Job summary

Nextracker seeks a Director of Structural Engineering to lead the Project Engineering Team from our Fremont, CA office, supporting US accounts. You will oversee the structural engineering for utility-scale PV projects from development through construction.

Responsibilities include steel design, foundation calculations, tool development, and preparing structural documentation for quotes and engineering packages. A PE license and 10+ years in solar EPC are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
• Minimum 10 years in structural engineering, EPC solar preferred.
• Hands-on structural design experience for steel and concrete.
• Proficient with finite element tools (RISA 3D, STAAD).
• PE license in multiple states.

Responsibilities

• Direct a team of Structural Engineers in the US and supporting regions.
• Perform detailed structural analysis and calculations for solar structures.
• Develop advanced structural analysis tools with R&D and software teams.
• Coordinate with third-party wind tunnel, component analysis and lifecycle testing.
• Lead engineering efforts across multiple projects for EPC customers.
• Ensure designs comply with IBC, ASCE, ASTM, AISC, ACI and relevant codes.
