Miami Dade College seeks a Director of Purchasing to oversee the College’s procurement of services and materials, ensuring compliance with State guidelines, college policies, and District Board approvals.

The role involves reviewing contracts, overseeing a P-Card program, and directing a Purchasing staff of 15+. Collaboration with department heads is essential to forecast capital needs and ensure timely procurement.

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Accounting or related field.
• Ten years related experience including two years of purchasing management in a large organization.
• Knowledge of State of Florida guidelines and College policies and procedures.
• Excellent organizational and written/oral communication skills.

Responsabilidades

• Recommends for Board approval purchase orders, requisitions, contracts, and other procurement documents based on knowledge of goods, supply sources, and price trends.
• Acts as spokesperson for the College on procurement matters.
• Reviews and approves vendor contracts and service agreements.
• Oversees and administers the P-Card program.
• Directs and supervises Purchasing Department staff of ~15 or more; assesses and develops staff skills.
• Consults with department heads and division directors to forecast capital equipment and supply needs.
• Represents the College in legal matters related to bid protests and their resolution.
• Determines specifications for equipment and supplies; coordinates bids and pricing.
• Executes other duties to support procurement goals and compliance with state and college requirements.
