Job summary

St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Winston-Salem, NC, seeks a Director of Stewardship to lead development, stewardship, and communications.

The role focuses on designing a comprehensive stewardship strategy, coordinating annual plans, and expanding Planned Giving while partnering with church leadership and volunteers. The ideal candidate has at least three years of fundraising experience, donor database familiarity (ACS preferred), and strong interpersonal and written communication skills.

Qualifications

• Three+ years of proven fundraising experience.
• Donor database experience with ACS familiarity desirable.
• Excellent written and spoken communication; strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the design of an overall stewardship strategy with fundraising goals.
• Execute the annual stewardship plan with staff, Vestry and volunteers.
• Create a donor culture by engaging staff, vestry members, and volunteers on fundraising goals.
• Monitor budgets and produce monthly reports and analyses of statistics.
• Direct and expand the Planned Giving initiative and related activities.
• Coordinate online gifts and funds with other stewardship efforts.
• Develop annual and ongoing stewardship communications by mail, email, social media, and newsletters.
• Recruit and manage annual stewardship chairs and volunteer committees.
• Oversee stewardship events such as monthly Gratitude Gatherings and parish activities.
• Manage donor database and ensure gifts and donor information are accurate.
• Track special giving, memorials, and matured planned gifts.
• Coordinate and direct the parish fair in August.
• Perform other duties as directed by the Rector.
