Overview

Responsible for leading clinical education, training, and infection control programs for a community and nursing staff. This includes supervising clinical staff orientation, curriculum implementation, and continuous compliance with state and federal regulations.

What You’ll Be Doing

You are primarily responsible for the clinical education and supervision of staffing working in the department. Your duties include orientation and training of nursing staff and the implementation and facilitation of development and education programs. You will manage the infection control programs for the community.

How You’ll Do It
  • Champion Pacific Retirement Services (PRS) culture by ingraining our Mission, Vision and Core Values into all aspects of your role.
  • Advocate for operations, processes and decisions that are in residents’ best interests.
  • Provide an orientation program for clinical staff that focuses on policies and procedures of the department, specific clinical duties, competency skills, and state and federal regulations.
  • Maintain a current educational profile on all nursing personnel and implement an ongoing evaluation process to ensure compliance with standards of practice.
  • Develop, coordinate, implement and evaluate education programs for clinical and ancillary staff.
  • Implement and oversee PRS’ preceptor programs and coordinate with nursing and CNA programs to incorporate students in training.
  • Develop an annual training plan that highlights opportunities for quality improvement.
  • Remain educated on developments and guidance from the CDC, CMS, Department of Health Services and Public Health Departments.
  • Oversee and manage all efforts to minimize the spread of infectious diseases throughout the community, working to increase coordination, communication and teamwork.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
About You
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in nursing, infection control, skilled nursing, home care management or a related field.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license from an accredited program.
  • Knowledge of the reporting process with Department of Health Safety Network (NHSN).
  • Exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills; able to train others on clinical software.
  • Valid and current CPR certification.
