Job summary

Insignia Event Services in Glendale, AZ is seeking a Director of Operations & Facilities to lead facilities, operations, and safety across our venues. This role reports to the VP of Operations and demands hands-on leadership in a fast-paced, high-volume event environment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong facilities management background, proven budget oversight, and the ability to develop high-performing teams while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance on event days and beyond.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in facilities management, sports management, business administration or related field.
• 5–7 years of progressively growing experience in facilities, operations, or related fields.
• Experience managing full‑time, part‑time and/or student staff.
• Excellent organizational, management, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with multiple priorities and strong project management capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide department leadership and ongoing development for facilities, operations, and safety and security teams.
• Direct and oversee workflow, transactions, and processes for facilities, operations and safety.
• Oversee event setup, maintenance, scheduling, and light construction.
• Maintain equipment inventory and maintenance records.
• Develop and implement operational policies; manage unit budget and ensure compliance.
• Collaborate with third‑party vendors including security, labor, law enforcement, housekeeping, etc.
• Manage facilities scheduling and coordination with partners.
• Develop best practice tools and processes to maximize operational performance.
• Prepare and manage facilities and capital budgets to ensure compliance and efficiency.
• Direct security goals and metrics aligned with the security plan.
• Oversee cleaning and maintenance of facilities and venues.
• Hands‑on facility maintenance as needed and oversee third‑party contractors.
• Develop operating procedures aligned with corporate standards and client needs.
• Ensure adherence to OSHA and safety-related codes.
• Continual inspection of facilities before, during, and after events.
• Attend department and staff meetings and coordinate with other departments.
