Children’s of Alabama seeks a Director of Spiritual Care to lead the department, ensure delivery of spiritual care to patients, families, and staff, and coordinate education and liaison activities with local spiritual communities. The role includes hiring, supervision, and performance evaluation within the organization’s management structure.

Formación

• Graduate theological degree from an accredited school of theology.
• Four units of CPE (Clinical Pastoral Education) in an accredited CPE program.
• Minimum of five years’ experience as a staff chaplain.
• CPE Residency in pediatrics preferred.
• Three to five years management/leadership experience preferred.
• Ordination, licensure, endorsement, or recognition by a spiritual community.
• Certification by a professional chaplain certifying entity at hire is preferred.
• If not certified at hire, a certification path will be established within two years.

Responsabilidades

• The Director of Spiritual Care is responsible for managing the Spiritual Care Department.
• Oversees provision of spiritual care to patients, caregivers, and staff.
• Oversees education and training in spiritual care for the institution.
• Communicates with local spiritual communities and provides liaison.
• Manages hiring, supervision, and evaluation of department staff and volunteers.
• Reports to the Vice President of Customer Service.

Educación

Graduate theological degree from an accredited school of theology

Bachelors of Science or Arts in Theology or Masters Degree in Theology
