Position Summary

We are seeking a Special Education Teacher – Vocational/Transition (Grades 9-12) who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with learning differences and mental health/behavioral challenges at The Glenholme School.

Pay

• $53,053 - $60,480.42 annually for Special Education Certified (SPED) Teachers

Primary Responsibilities

• Demonstrate a student‑centered approach to instruction.
• Participate in a reflective professional development process.
• Meet IEP/Treatment Plan requirements by contributing data‑based present level of student performance, accommodations, modifications, transitional elements and other pertinent information.
• Integrate multi‑modality instructional approaches in lesson planning and delivery to meet diverse learning styles.
• Prioritize and promote a safe and secure learning environment through social emotional learning.
• Collaborate formally and informally with teaching assistants, occupational/speech therapists, social workers, nurses, behavior specialists and school leaders regarding student and teacher supports.
• Implement PBIS campus approaches with high fidelity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education or related field required (Master's preferred).
• Connecticut Special Education Teaching Certificate required.
• 3 years of experience in the field of education preferred.
• Special education experience preferred.
